Day 129- Nutrition Bite

"When natural sugar is refined and concentrated, the life force is dispersed and the natural balance upset. Refined sugar passes quickly into the bloodstream in large amounts, giving the stomach and pancreas a shock. An acid condition forms which consumes the body's minerals quickly. Thus, calcium is lost from the system, causing bone problems. The digestive system is weakened and food cannot be digested or assimilated properly. This leads to a blood-sugar imbalance and further craving for sugar."

Sugar Preacher's Experience
I ordered a slice of Pizza at Whole Foods today. After eating the pizza, my stomach felt sick. I'm not sure if it was the fat, grease, or sugar. However, I am becoming a food snob or really sensitive to unhealthy foods.

Day 88- Nutrition Bite

The video segment below on diet.com shows 4-year-old french fries and hamburgers from McDonalds that have not aged. There is no physical and chemical change due to the preservatives. Click on video for more details.

Sugar Preacher's Experience

If the chemical structure isn't breaking down naturally in a lunch box, how is it breaking down in our body??? How can these preservatives be healthy for our bodies? I thought this video was very interesting. Fast food can be evil. You might want to think twice before you eat a Big Mac!

Day 59-Nutritional Bite

Beware of the world's unhealthiest drink! Baskin Robbins Heath Shake has 2,310 calories, 73 ingredients, 108 grams of fat, and 266 grams of sugar. Stay away from the Heath Shake unless you want to be shaking with an increase of fat!

Sugar Preacher's Experience
I wouldn't touch that shake, even if somebody paid me. The calories are almost double my daily caloric intake. It is hard to believe Baskin Robbins would sell a drink so unhealthy!

Day 10-Nutritional Bite

What is the difference and similarities between High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS) and sugar? HFCS comes from corn while sugar comes from sugar cane and sugar beets. They both go through enzymatic processing, and debates continue on which is the most harmful sugar or HFCS . Experts say the increased consumption of HFCS and sugars are a major factor for the rise in obesity and diabetes in America. Chi-Tang Ho, a food scientist, found that soft drinks sweetened with HFCS are up to 10 times richer in harmful carbonyl compounds than a diet soft drink. Carbonyl compounds are elevated in diabetics and blamed for causing diabetic complications.

Sugar Preacher's Experience
Yesterday, my uncle asked me about the differences between HFCS and sugar and the negative benefits of each. Thousands of books have been written on this topic, and the subject is very controversial. Scientific research does link the rise of obesity to the overconsumption of HFCS and sugars. Thus, stay away from these substances, or at least reduce them.
