"Sugar is exceptionally damaging to your skin because sugar molecules attach to collagen fiber, ultimately causing them to 'cross link' and become stiff and inflexible. The extensive cross-linking of collagen and sugar leads to wrinkling, leathering, and loss of elasticity of your skin."

Day 55-Nutritional Bite
Fruits and vegetables high in potassium will help develop more muscle! In a recent study at Tufts University, scientists found those who consumed more fruits and vegetables with potassium had more muscle. Potassium-rich foods help neutralize the acid that causes muscle break-down as you age. Sugar Preacher's Experience
Cantaloupe contains 494 milligrams of potassium. I'll be eating more cantaloupe and bananas, because I want more lean muscle!

Day 35-Nutritional Bite
Eat less sugar for healthy skin! Dr. Elson M. Haas writes in his book "Staying Healthy with Nutrition" that drinking excessive amounts of coffee and soda – especially cola – contributes to acne. Most of the heaviest soda drinkers in the United States are teenagers, who simultaneously are being affected by hormones. Both the soda and the hormones result in prevalent skin problems. Acne, a common problem in teenagers, results from a combination of hormone stimulation, production of irritating fatty acids by certain bacteria, stress and poor diet.
Sugar Preacher's Experience
When I'm on a high sugar diet and stressed out, acne seems to appear. Today, I ate bulgar for breakfast with honey and milk. The whole grain was filling. I also feel my skin is more radiant when I am eating grains, fruits, and vegetables!

Day 2-Nutritional Bite
Scientific research on natural sugars shows benefits rather than the risks! Fresh fruits are rich in nutrients such as bananas and potassium, blueberries and antioxidants, etc... A few other natural sweeteners include stevia, barley malt, evaporated cane juice, fruit juice, rice syrup, and honey. Refined and processed sugars are the enemy not natural sugars!
Sugar Preacher's Experience
This morning I made whole-wheat pancakes and used applesauce as a replacement for syrup. I also went through my cabinets and threw away all processed and refined sugars. I went to the local market and bought fresh fruits in season. It feels good to replace the refined sugars with natural sugars. This will be a great purification process!!
