Day 215- Nutrition Bite

Avoid the Halloween treat chocolate coins because they may contain melamine. Earlier this month, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) announced a recall of Sherwood Brands Pirate's Gold Milk Chocolate Coins due to positive test results for melamine.
The U.S. Food and Drug Adminstration hasn't yet issued an advisory.

Sugar Preacher's Experience

If you are trick-or-treating avoid the chocolate coins. I would heed the recall. I haven't had a personal experience with recalls. However, I read that 15 people died in August from a listeria outbreak in Canada, and each year in the U.S. 50 million people become ill and thousands die from eating contaminated meat. Have a Happy Halloween and don't eat too much candy!!
