Day 201- Nutrition Bite

Victoria Boutenke states, "The more chlorophyll we consume, the better our intestinal flora and overall health... Considering that greens are a major source of chlorophyll, it is difficult to find a better way of consuming cholorphyll than drinking green smoothies." Listed below is a recipe from her book "Green for Life."


Green Delicious Smoothies
Blend Well:

5 leaves of kale (purple)
1/4 avocado
3 cloves of garlic
Juice of 1/2 lime
2 cups water
1/2 tsp. Salt
2 roma tomatoes


Yields: 1 quart of smoothie

I have never tried a green smoothie, but my grandma was an advocate of a green drink. When I was a child, she encouraged us to consume a drink with every green vegetable you could imagine. She also added a little fruit juice to disguise the green taste! I'm going to experiment with this green smoothie as soon as possible.
