Mission Statement
The purpose of Sugar Shun is to educate the public on the importance of achievement and maintenance of a healthy body weight through the adoption of a non-refined sugar diet. Our mission is based on the scientific evidence that obesity is not just an appearance problem; it is a condition that can lead to serious disease. Obesity is associated with five of the ten leading causes of death and disability in the United States -- heart disease, some forms of cancer, type II diabetes, stroke, and hypertension (high blood pressure). The Sugar Preacher will blog about a personal 365-day sugar detoxification and post a daily nutritional thought to encourage fellow Sugar Shunners with their journey in the world of no sugar.

I heartily applaud your blod mission and objectives. I have limited my added sugars intake for years and my immune system is stronger and I feel so much more energy than ever before.

It is great to hear there are fellow sugar shunners in the world or at least people who limit their sugar intake! Keep up the good work!!
What fantastic inspiration this blog is! I've been wanting to leave sugar behind for a long time, but usually go through short stints of healthiness/mental-alertness & then buy a big bag of candy. Thanks for getting the message out and for the encouragement!
Just wanted to say hi. I, too, applaud your mission. Hurrah to you for spreading the word about the many benefits of shunning sugar. Warmly, Connie
